Sunday Morning - “Do Not Be Surprised”
Good morning & I hope this finds all those in your circle of love healthy & happy!
Because of the path I have walked; the choices and mistakes I’ve made, the flaws I have, the experiences I have had and the fight that I continue to fight, it has allowed me to share what I have learned. One of the things I have shared with those I come into contact with is the fact that they are better today than they were a year ago, five years and ten years ago. Then I ask them If they have had some tough times, rhetorical, of course they have. We all have. And then I’ll ask them if they’ve had some really tough times, some truly difficult tests? Once again, rhetorical. I then point out that during each of those past tests, there were doubt and fears. But some how we made it through them. How do I know this? Because we are here today; proof that we made it through those challenging times, passed the tests and overcame the obstacles that we faced. So, that being said, if we made it through those challenges in the past and we agree that we are better today because of what we have made it through, what we have learned and how we have grown… why would we not be able to get through the challenges, obstacles, fears and doubts that we face along our path today? If we truly believe that we have grown, that we are a better form of ourselves today, then why shouldn’t we have the faith, courage and ability to over come that which faces us today?
I read this quote from a daily prayer book, which made me re-think this analogy and why I decided to share it this morning:
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”
(1 Peter 4:12)
Have a blessed day and know that the tough times you have made it through, give you the ability to make it through anything you face today. So believe and trust in God.
peace & God bless
