harmonious balance

The only thing I love more than being affected, is affecting others.
It comes down to sharing our stories, our gifts, our blessings and our challenges.
Listening to others, learning and growing.
Doing your best and then simply letting go.

peace & God bless

–verb (used with object)
1.   to bring back from memory
Good morning. My wish is that all those in your circle of love are healthy & happy. I want to thank you for allowing my words, thoughts & stories into your lives through these Sunday Morning messages. I feel blessed for that privilege. I truly just like being affected & sharing. So again, thank you! J
Here is one that truly affected me, & I am honored to share with you…
(A dear friend & client shared this story with me about her father.)
My father worked there over 30 years! He was a warehouseman and he won awards every year for his accuracy in filling part orders. He was meticulous! Last year he was forced into retirement 5 years before he should’ve been.
Initially he was shocked, I think. And worried of course, because their financial plans had always been dependent upon his agreed retirement date. The whole retirement package got changed around, monetarily. He’s still looking for a new part-time job to pick up the slack.
What I think adds most to the story is that my father is a man of routine in the purest sense of the word. For over 30 years he got up at the same time, drove the same route across town, came home at the same time, and worked overtime many weekends. I think he felt lost without his job. Suddenly there were SO many hours in the day - hours that he now spent worrying about where the money would come from to keep our family afloat.
The beauty in all of this is now, a year later, when Toyota is having troubles that NO one could’ve foreseen in such a strong company, it seems like a blessing that he was forced out while they still had the money to make him a good retirement offer. If he had been forced out because of this crisis, the retirement packages would’ve certainly been MUCH more meager.
Should I also mention that he is a devout Christian who more accurately embodies the personality of Christ than anyone else I’ve ever known? A day hasn’t passed in my life when my father hasn’t read his bible before work, church or even vacation. My entire life he’s been a deacon and the Sunday school superintendent at our church. But most importantly, he is also the kindest, most gentle, giving, humble, and selfless person I’ve ever known. I’m truly lucky to have been raised by him! He’s definitely my idol.
When I looked up “Recall” in the dictionary & read the first definition; “to bring back from memory” I thought that sounded so much better than what we all know it for & why it’s in the news today. But to me, it is also what walking by faith is. By remembering our past lessons and applying that knowledge to future moments we will benefit by feeling less stress, having the ability to focus on the blessings that we have & therefore, we can trust in the fact that His plan is far greater for us than we may ever know.
