Sunday Morning - “Repetition”
Good morning & I hope your Labor Day weekend is going magically!
I discovered at a young age that most things in life are learned by simple repetition. Where I am in my life now, I feel I am very repetitive with the things I say and share. Talk to me five years ago or in five years and I’ll probably being saying the same things. One of my favorite phrases is to be “Pro You”. I always say life is about choices; make them bad or good, they are yours. If you can get to a place in your life where many of the decisions you make are the best decisions you could make for yourself, to me that is being pro-you. Another quote that is always included whenever I am sharing is that most of what I say is easily stated and harder to apply. Pro You choices are no different. What everyone wants to do and wants you to do, may not be what is best for you. Seeing the best decision for you may be easier than actually telling everyone that you are not going along with the group. You may have also heard this concept described as The Power of No.
The great thing about these type of decisions and the power of “no” is that the better the decision is for you, the better you will feel and the more repetitive you are in that kind of decision making, the more you will want to do it. Thus, the better you will get at it.
More repetition = more familiarity = more comfortable = more confident = more peace in your life.
In my Daily Word prayer booklet one morning I read a story and a line from it said “In faith I move confidently in the direction of my good.” It also stated that God’s desire for us is only good. To me it is the same thing, said in another way. If we do what is good for us, we will be right in line for the good that He has planned for us.
Deem yourself worthy of the effort people!
Have a safe & blessed weekend! :-)
